Huntington Resident to Release First Album
John Kilgour followed his dream and created his first album in his spare time on his computer
Huntington resident and musician John Kilgour is about to release his first music album "Destroy All Planets" on i-Tunes, fullfilling a lifelong "musical dream." Remarkably, Kilgour created the album a little bit at a time over several months in his spare time using computer software. This proves it is possible to create your own music album with modern technology compared to years ago when you needed a costly studio.
Kilgour says he always wanted to create his own music. He finally learned the guitar about 15 years ago. He wrote a song "Gravity" in 2008 and soon started compiling a conceptual album. The name "Destroy All Planets" he says is a reference to a 1950's sci-fi movie "Destroy All Monsters". "It's really hard to come up with a band name," says Kilgour. Despite the sci-fi title, all the music on his album is about his own life experiences. about meeting his wife, being a father and family man. "Destroy All Planets" will be available soon on i-Tunes.
