Long Island's Best: Young Artists at The Heckscher

This juried exhibition features artwork by 80 students in grades 9 through 12 attending public and private schools throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties. With 52 schools participating during the 2010-2011 school year, the museum received more than 200 student artwork entries for jurying. 

Long Island's Best is the only juried exhibition on Long Island that offers high school students the opportunity to show their artwork in a museum.

2011 marks the 15th anniversary of the Long Island's Best: Young Artists at The Heckscher Museum arts-in-education initiative. To mark this occasion, this accompanying installation Celebrating 15 Years features select award-winning artwork from past Long Island's Best exhibitions.

The museum hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday-Friday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
