Members of Walt Whitman High School's choir, stage and jazz bands, chamber orchestra and wind ensemble are competing at the Heritage Festival in Philadelphia this weekend.
The 99 musicians, teachers and chaperones left late Thursday afternoon after a nearly 10-hour delay because of problems with the private buses but the students remained in good spirits.
They will be performing in competition Saturday against musical groups from across the country. They are scheduled to return Sunday afternoon.
