Ages 7+
In this workshop students will journey from the center of the Earth to its surface for an exploration into plate tectonics. Students will create simple models of the different plate boundaries, discover how mountains, volcanoes and earthquakes form, and attempt to recreate how the Earth may have looked 220 million years ago. Throughout this brief introduction to the science of geology, students will explore the nature of scientific theory and the role model building plays in enhancing understanding, while honing their reasoning ability.
