Local author Magnus Walsh at Book Revue

Local author Magnus Walsh will be here to speak and sign his new book, Five O'Clock and All's Well.

Magnus is known for his adoration of the town he lives in and shows that through the many interesting characters and stories he incorporates into his new book. Much like “The Great Gatsby,” which is a favorite book of Magnus’, F. Scott Fitzgerald describes two very wealthy communities on the North Shore of Long Island (West Egg and East Egg a.k.a. Great Neck and Manhasset). Magnus uses a similar set-up with the Lloyd Harbor Egg, also a wealthy community on the North Shore of Long Island, which serves as the setting of many of his stories. “My stories are a glimpse into the lives of real local people who I have had the privilege to meet. The overall theme of this book centers on the fact that if you observe your surroundings you will see countless acts of kindness. This book was written to reflect the value, principles and the fun which we so often forget in our every day busy lives. It is a reminder that we need to stop and smell the flowers,” explains Magnus.

All of Magnus’ stories are very short, but have one goal in mind – to pick you up if you are feeling down. Most of them are less than a page and are accompanied by photos by Michael Fairchild, one of Long Island's leading photographers.
