Join the Huntington Historical Society for an evening of music memorializing Sergei Rachmaninoff's time in Centerport and celebrating his music and contributions to the community's rich cultural history.

The concert begins at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, at the Steinway Gallery, 505 Walt Whitman Road, Melville.

Twelve of the area's best pianists and musicians are donating their time and talent to raise funds for the creation and installation of a historical marker.

The marker will be placed at the location of his summer residence on the Little Neck Peninsula, not far from the Vanderbilt, to raise awareness that the composer summered in this area in the years 1940-41 at the Honeyman Estate overlooking the harbor.

Isabella Eredita-Johnson, director of Northport's Opera Night, is joining the Historical Society to host the benefit concert.

Tickets cost $20. Tickets to the concert may also be purchased on-line  at www.HuntingtonHistoricalSociety.org, click on ‘Calendar & Newsletter.’

For more information, contact the Historical Society at (631) 427-7045 ext. 401.

I would love to become part of the Huntington Chamber of Commerce. However, for a new business itRead More is costly and may not fit into every new business owners budget. May I suggest a provisional 1-year membership at a reduced cost. Once successful the provisional members can give back by supporting other new members.

Do they have the metal inside that held the glass bottles? Are they different sizes? It's hard toRead More tell from the pic. I would definitely buy 2 or 3 but, I wouldn't be able to pay 40.00 each. 20-25 each I can do. Thanks, Karen
