Folk Jam at HPL

Join like-minded musicians for a Folk Jam at the Huntington Public Library from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, June 12.

Bring your instrument/voice and a snack to share. This is a monthly gathering for musicians and singers of all experience levels, during which everyone joins in on songs, primarily from the book “Rise Up Singing.” It affords an opportunity to play, sing and hone your skills with others.

This folk jam is acoustic (unplugged--- no amplifiers). Bring your instruments, voices, the “Rise Up Singing” songbook if you have it, and a snack/non-alcoholic beverage to share.

The Folk Music Society of Huntington sponsors a Folk Jam once a month to allow musicians from beginner to advanced the opportunity to play and sing with other musicians.

For those who are seeking a place where performing folk music can be shared ... this is it. Closet "folkies" can come out and jam with others, swapping old and new songs. Attendance isn't limited to musicians, as all are invited, but be advised amateurs are getting together as amateurs — the folk jam is not Star Search.
