2011 Gay Pride Parade

The 21st annual Long Island Gay Pride Parade is set for Sunday, June 12, along Main Street in Huntington. There will be a rally at noon in the Gerard Street parking lot before the parade and a festival afterward in Heckscher Park.

The Long Island Pride Rally Parade & Festival in the Park starts with a rally at noon in the village parking lot opposite the Huntington Post Office, at West Neck Road and Gerard Street.

 The Pride Parade begins at 1 p.m. and runs east along Huntington's Main Street to Heckscher Park, the site of the Long Island Pride Festival. An extimated 5,000 spectators watched in 2009, the Long Island Pride site estimates.

The festival is free and lasts throughout the afternoon. There's entertainment, food vendors, a community fair, and kids' areas.

The festival celebrates the spirit and vitality of the Long Island GLBT Community. It will feature all-live entertainment, food courts, community information booths, and vendors.

The festival is free for everyone. Families can enjoy the Pride Kiddie Korner, with clowns and face painting.
