Depo, Performing at Fair, Does a Q&A
Whitman grad bringing his talents to Station event.
The Huntington Station street fair just around the corner, and will feature a number of local performers and vendors.
Patch spoke with Ryan Di Paola, known as Depo.
Question: What kind of music do you play?
Answer: I play hip-hop/pop tunes.
Q.: Where have you performed?
A.: I've performed all over the Island as well as NYC. From the Hammerstein Ball Room, to the Gramercy Theatre.
Q.: I see you're a Whitman grad--what kinds of things were you involved in as a student? Were you in a band or orchestra either in the school or outside it?
A.: Never a band or orchestra but always revolved myself around music. I've been writing music to instrumentals since I was 12yrs old. Music is what soothes me. From live music to just throwing on my headphones.
Q.: What have you been doing since high school?
A.: I graduated from Hofstra with a bachelors in Science in Education but before I think of starting a career regarding just that, I wanna chase my dreams while I'm still young and do what I love to do which is perform and write music.
Q.: What's your next step musically?
A.: Hopefully going on tour with a mainstream artist this coming fall.
Q.: Why should we come listen to you Saturday?
A.: Because I make great music and love what I do. I'm an entertainer.
He added, that he was "Born and raised in South Huntington. Im 24yrs young. Live on my own and chasing my dreams... Working on new music everyday and doing what I love to do. Cant beat that!"
The fair is set to run Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Depot Road.
