Cinema Arts to Celebrate 40th

Auction, music part of Huntington's center celebration.

The Cinema Arts Centre is celebrating its 40th anniversary Thursday with an auction, film showing and more.

The celebration is set for the North Ritz Club in Syosset.

Being honored at the event are:

  • CAC Co-Directors, Charlotte Sky & Dylan Skolnick
  • Alpern Family Foundation
  • Bottles & Cases
  • Warrington Hudlin, Founding President Black Filmmakers’ Foundation, Filmmaker, and independent film producer
  • Main Street Nursery
  • State Council on the Arts – Karen Helmerson, program director, Electronic Media, Film & Visual Arts
  • Andrew Nittoli
  • Stuart & Ginger Polisner
The celebration starts at 6:30 p.m.

Providing music will be
  • A private screening party at the Cinema Arts Centre
  • A chance to be an extra in the new thriller, DARK, from Executive Producer Joe Dante
  • A private dinner party for six prepared in the winner's home by Martin Butera of Butera’s Restaurants
  • A private concert in the winner's home by four members of Decoda
  • Original artwork by Isabel Pavão,  Isabel Pavão, artist, exhibits her work in New York City and in many museums and galleries all over the world.  Professor of Art Borough of Manhattan Community College, Isabel Pavão is a member of the Board of Directors of the Cinema Arts Centre.
  • A Louisville Slugger bat signed by Carlton Fisk accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, contributed by Sandy Friedman in memory of Bob Friedman.

And a special performance will be offered by Susanne Daeppen and  Christoph Lauener of the Dakini Dance Projects, Switzerland.

The auction features the following:
