Benefit for Station Kids Canceled

Melba Moore, choirs were set to help with performances at Paramount.

A an evening of entertainment designed to help raise funds for initiatives for children in Huntington Station has been canceled.

There was no immediate word why. The event, entitled, "A Diva, A Comedian and Broadway for the Children of Huntington Station" was scheduled for Saturday at the Paramount.

The lineup was headlined byTony Award winner and four-time Grammy Award nominee Melba Moore with the Boys and Girls Choirs of Harlem Ensemble and featuring Geoff Cohen, Chris and Kyle Timson.

One of the proposed initiatives for the area was a water/splash park.

Sponsors were AvalonBay Communities, Bethpage Federal Credit Union, LIPA, Triangle Equities and Verizon.
