3 Honored By Town Board For Heroism

Helped save life of Huntington Station boy June 27.

Three Huntington Station residents were honored Monday by the Huntington Town Board for heroic efforts which helped save the life of an 11-year-old boy who nearly drowned.

Jalin Sair, 16, noticed the younger boy lying motionless at the bottom of a Huntington Station pool June 27 before jumping into the pool and pulling him to safety. 

Dominique Sair, 23, and his father Patrick Sair, performed immediate CPR on the victim trying to get him to breath before emergency responders arrived.

Town Board member Glenda Jackson said thanks to the lifesaving efforts of the trio and the work of first responders at the scene, the victim is expected to make a full recovery.

"Jalen, Dominique and Patrick each displayed acts of heroism in their courageous and quick-thinking efforts and averted what could have been a tragic loss to family friends and to the community," said Jackson during a meeting at village hall.
