Photo of the Day: Ball Park Dedication

Depot Park dedicated to memory and contributions of Harry Thompson.

Legendary Huntington youth volunteer Harry Thompson was honored by the Town of Huntington last week at Depot Field.

Friends, family and public officials gathered at the baseball park in Huntington Station to officially dedicate the field in honor of Thompson who died in 1990 of Leukemia.

For more than 30 years, Thompson, a former baseball player recruited by the big leagues, dedicated countless hours of his time to Huntington youth as coach, umpire, league director, chairman of rules committee, volunteer groundskeeper and Walt Whitman Booster Club President, according to a town press release.
