: The Barnes & Noble store in Huntington Station closed its doors for good Saturday night. Unable to reach a new lease agreement with Federal Realty, the chain will continue operations in other stores, including East Northport. Federal Realty continues to offer the 24,930-square-foot space. The Maryland company also is handling Toys R Us, which is expected to shut down at the Huntington Shopping Center by the third week of January. The center normally has 14 tenants.

: Town Board Member Glenda Jackson recently honored Huntington resident William Slade, for his efforts during Word War II as one of the “Tuskegee Airmen,” are revered group of pilots who contributed to the success of the U.S. military.

: An armed robbery occurred at a Huntington Station jewelry store Tuesday.  say three Hispanic males fled the A and D jewerly and Stuff store, located at 1480A New York Ave., on foot with an undetermined amount of cash and jewelry after forcing a store clerk to open a safe at about 4:30 p.m.
