1. Black Opens Election Headquarters: Suffolk County Legislature 18th District candidate Elizabeth Black to open election headquaters at 215 E. Main St. in Huntington Saturday.

2. Splashes of Hope Pub Stroll: Sponsored by the Blue Point Brewing Company, guests visit the Nag’s Head Alehouse, Finley’s of Greene Street, Canterbury Ales, Rookie’s Sports Club and Mary Carroll’s. Proceeds from the 2011 Pub Stroll will support a Splashes of Hope mural project at the Northport VA Medical Center. Registration starts at 12:30 p.m. at Nag’s Head Ale House on New York Avenue in Huntington Village. Details

3. Burnin' For You: Blue Oyster Cult plays with Uriah Heap at the The Paramount Theater Saturday at 8 p.m.

4. Just Down The Road: Farmingdale's Carnival and Street Fair includes sidewalk sale, barbequed food, craft show, carnival. Sunday parade at 6 p.m. and fireworks at 10 p.m.

Paint The Mall Pink: In recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Walt Whitman Mall is joining with 13 other malls in the NY/NJ region to Paint the Mall Pink, a grassroots program designed to highlight breast cancer awareness that will feature a combination of educational displays, health fairs, special events, retailer offerings and a variety of other pink elements throughout the malls during the month of October.
