NAACP Meeting, Whitman Athletes and Hot and Spicy Day

1. NAACP to meet: The Huntington chapter of the NAACP meets today at 6 p.m. at the , located at 145 Pidgeon Hill Rd., Huntington Station. The meeting is open to all.

2. Whitman Gold Key Athletic Awards: Top athletes at will be honored today at Woodbury Country Club, located at 884 Jericho Tpke. in Woodbury. The Booster Club's third annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony will also be conducted.

3. Huntington Board of Zoning Appeals: Begins at 6 p.m. at Huntington , 100 Main St., Huntington.

4. Brian Ashley Jones and Loretta Hagen at the Hard Luck Cafe and Cinema Arts, located at 423 Park Ave, in Huntington. Begins at 8:30 p.m. Open mike hour begins at 7:30 p.m., sign up starts at 7 p.m. Jones is a singer and guitarist, a versatile Americana songwriter whose compositions have been placed in both film and TV and recorded by other artists.

5. Kick it up a notch: Today is Hot and Spicy Food International Day.
