Entrepreneurs Talk Shop in the Station

Entrepreneurs and business owners got together at a meet and greet at the town business incubator in Huntington Station. The meeting connected those with hopes of starting their own businesses with those who could serve as mentors or otherwise help bring the dream to reality.

Five to Perform at Arts Council Gala
Five entertainers are booked to perform Oct. 5 at Gala 50, the 50th anniversary of the Huntington Arts Council. The celebration will be held at the Paramount, whose founders, Stephen Ubertini, Brian Doyle, Dominick Catoggio and Jim Condron, will be honored.

Agency Says Sitar Building to Come Down
The real estate company handling the sale of the blighted Sitar restaurant site said he expects the building to be torn down within " a couple of months."  Stephen R. Preuss of Massey Knakal Realty Services, said the site is listed for $750,000. The restaurant closed in 2008.

Tree That Closed Road Is Taken Down
A tree that led part of Park Avenue closing down has been cut down.
Workers had attempted Wednesday to remove a large vine-covered tree on property facing Huntington Hospital. But after cutting at the base of the tree, which was near utility wires and close to the road, workers had to stop. Suffolk County police and hospital security officers shut down Park Avenue from near Maple Hill Road to Viewacre Drive while officials assessed the safety. 

Radiation Practice Joins Hospital Network
The North Shore-LIJ Health System announced Monday has added North Shore Radiation Therapy, Cyberknife of Long Island as an affiliate. 

The practice has offices in Smithtown and Greenlawn.
