July 9: "Bye, Bye Birdie;" Clown Class; and Living History

5 things you need to know today

1. Clown Class: A step by step clown school takes place today for kids in Lloyd Harbor. Watch a clown warming up "in laughter," and then go through the sequence of putting on make up and a clown suit. Basic concepts of clowning such as pretending, making funny movements, story telling, and making othes laugh will be discussed. Starts at 10 a.m. at , 25 Lloyd Harbor Rd.

2. "We Love You Conrad, Oh Yes We Do": Huntington Arts Council, Summer Festival Presents The play "Bye Bye Birdie" by Plaza Theatrical Production. The satiric Broadway hit about Conrad Birdie, rock 'n roll idol drafted into the army, and the effect on his teenage fans and their families in Sweet Apple, Ohio. Showtime at 8:30 p.m. on the Chapin Rainbow Stage at Heckscher Park.

3. Huntington Rocks: The Young Rebel Goombas at from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Six Gun 5 at at 10 p.m.; Crazy 88's at Finley's at 11:30 p.m.
