Feb. 15: Teacher of the Year; Art Exhibit

1. South Huntington Teacher of The Year Presentation: The South Huntington School Board will name the Teacher of the Year Wednesday at Walt Whitman High School during a regular meeting beginning at 7:30 p.m.

2. Let Patch Spread The Word: Just married? New baby? Make the honor roll? Add an announcement

3. Creating A Positive Future For Special Needs Children: There many factors to consider with special needs children including legal, financial and emotional considerations. The workshop introduces the different aspects that need to be considered in developing a life care plan for achieving the best quality of life in every area for children with special needs. Begins at 7 p.m. at Huntington Public Library for cardholders only. Free admission.

4. Screenwriter Discussion Group: Meets every other Monday in the Cinema Arts Centre's Sky Room. Free admission.

5. Lincoln/Whitman Art Exhibit: The Huntington Arts Council presents "Two American Icons, Abraham Lincoln and Walt Whitman," paintings and drawings by Dan Christoffel. The exhibit runs through March 19 in the Art-trium Gallery at 25 Melville Park Road in Melville. Details
