School hosts blood drive in honor of student and amasses 'character' bandages for hospital use.

A blood drive Wednesday in honor of a Countrywood Primary Center student brought in 93 units of blood and boxes of decorative Band-Aids for donation to hospitals.

Liam Gorman, 6, a Countrywood student, has a rare form of anemia that requires regular transfusions. He's also the brains behind a plan to help hospitals provide decorative Band-Aids for use with young patients. Donors brought dozens of boxes to the drive.

Countrywood students turned out as volunteers for the New York Blood Center drive.
