Patch Columnist, Author Named To Child Care Council Board

Huntington resident, author and Patch columnist appointed with two others.

The Child Care Council of Suffolk, Inc. recently appointed Patch columnist Liza Burby to their board of directors.

At their annual meeting at Touro Law Center in Central Islip, Lauren Baron, a senior director and advisor with of global business operations for CA Technologies and Steve Zimmer, an attorney and National Foortball league game official were also named to the board.

Burby, a resident of Huntingon, is publisher of Long Island Parent magazine and the author of 41 books. Her weekly column is featured on Patch each Wednesday at 1 p.m. She serves on the advisory committee for the Early Years Institute and is a member of the Parenting Institute at Adelphi, Speaker’s Bureau for the Early Years Matter and WALK-FM Community Advisory Committee. She has been recognized for her work in supporting parents by both the National Association of Mothers’ Centers and the North Shore Child and Family Guidance Center.
