“It is simply unacceptable that more than 300,000 Long Islanders experience hunger on a regular basis, and most Long Islanders don’t even realize how prevalent this problem is,”  Israel said. “Documentaries like ‘A Place at the Table’ open our eyes to the harsh realities of hunger in America and the need for common-sense government policies to combat this problem. I am pleased to join with Island Harvest Food Bank, my friend Tom Colicchio and Mike Xirinachs to discuss this pressing issue and how we can help find a lasting solution.”
