Blog Roundup: Molly Brings Agony, Not Ecstasy

See what some Patch bloggers are saying this week.

Patch bloggers take time out of their busy days to let you know about some things going on in their neck of the woods. Here, we've gathered what a few of them from around the area had to say. Molly Brings Agony, Not Ecstasy

Two attendees at the Electric Zoo Festival on Randall’s Island died this past weekend after taking the illegal drug called Molly.

Formerly called Ecstasy, Molly’s popularity is on the rise, as are its risks. There were more than 20,000 Molly-related emergency department visits in 2011, compared to just over 10,000 for 2004, according to the Drug Abuse Warning Network.

Could Your Kids (Or You), Pass This Money Quiz?

Picking up from where I left off at last week’s post, it has been established that we should teach our kids the value of money by age 7. If we haven’t there is still time for them, and for us, to still learn. In this week’s post, I wanted to share a couple of personal learnings I had when I started giving my kids their allowance a few years back.

TFCU & GrooveCars' Car of the Week: The 2014 Ford Mustang

Thanks to the Ford Mustang, the automotive world has never been the same. Since it's introduction in 1964, the Mustang has gone through many iterations, from the legendary Boss 302, to the pretty awful early 80's offerings (a Ghia Mustang...really?), the car has kept up with the times and constantly evolved. One thing has remained consistent- the car stirs souls and turns heads as it rumbles down the road.

Should You Wash Pre-Washed Lettuce?

I must admit that when it comes to preparing salads, I am one lazy princess! The mere thought of preparing salad greens and drying them with a salad spinner exhausts me, so I usually resort to buying pre-washed, packaged greens. My pre-packaged lettuces of choice are Olivia’s Organic and Earthbound Farms Organic Spring Mixes.

Rental Car Insurance Myths

At one time or another, you will probably need to rent a car in the U.S. in your life time.  When you rent a car you do NOT need to take out the car rental companies insurance if you have your OWN auto insurance (if you have a company car and rent personal, you need to take rental coverage).
