Is a CD the right investment for you?

Certificates of Deposit or CDs are a great way to invest your funds to minimize interest rate risk. That makes a CD perfect for the beginning investor who may be risk adverse or anyone who might not need access to their funds for a period of time.

Huntington NAACP Honors Alvin White

Someone told Alvin White a long time ago that if he saw something he didn’t like and wanted to change it, he shouldn’t complain; he should get involved. Since then the longtime community resident has done just that, serving on a variety of local boards, committees and task forces and volunteering with many organizations.

The NAACP’s Huntington branch recently presented Mr. White with the organization’s Freedom Fund Award during a well-attended dinner at the Thatched Cottage in Centerport.

If you answered “C,” take some comfort in being a member of the majority. There are plenty of nice things about family gatherings, but they can cause real tension, too.
