1. Blood Drives: Island-wide annual blood drive at the Huntington YMCA Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Take the initiative on your health and get informed with free health screening, workshops and lectures. Click here for the complete schedule. Also, Halesite Fire Department, along with its Ladies Auxiliary, will be sponsoring our Winter Blood Drive Friday from 3:30 p.m to 8 p.m. at 1 N. New York Ave. in Halesite. Winter is when stored blood levels are at their lowest, so please donate.

2. Northport vs. Whitman: The Wildcats take on Northport in boys basketball at Friday. Tipoff is at 6:15 p.m. Admission is free.

3. B-Street Band at the Paramount: The World’s No. 1 Springsteen tribute band, originally known as Backstreets, was formed in Asbury Park, N.J., in May of 1980 and is now considered the longest running tribute band in the world entering their 32nd year and also the No. 1 Tribute to Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band. Doors open at 6 p.m., show starts at 8 p.m. on Saturday.

4. Food Buckets Fundraiser Spaghetti Dinner: The youth fellowship group of the is holding a spaghetti and meatball dinner starting at 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, upstairs in the church's Fellowship Hall, 180 W. Neck Road, Huntington. Tickets are $10.

5. Girls Basketball: plays Archbishop Carroll (Pa.) in a non-league contest at St. Dominic High School in Oyster Bay Sunday. Drive out and show your support. Tipoff at 2:30 p.m.
