5 Irish Concerts to See This Week on LI

There's a concert for every music taste this week in honor of St. Patrick's Day.

With St. Patrick’s Day just one week away, bars and concert halls alike will be filling with favorite Irish tunes. Whether you like classic rock or punk rock, a fiddle or a Fender, there’s a concert for everyone who’s Irish at heart.

Dropkick Murphys
The Paramount in Huntington
Tuesday, 8 p.m.
If you love punk rock and Martin Scorsese’s “The Departed,” Dropkicks Murphys are a must-see, especially when they’re on their annual St. Patrick’s Day tour.

Sharon Corr of The Corrs

Friday, 7 p.m.
Founding member of The Corrs, singer and violinist Sharon Corr began the hugely successful Celtic band with her siblings. Catch part of the act in her solo concert Friday night.

2U: The U2 Experience
The Emporium in Patchogue
Friday, 8 p.m.
"If you suspend disbelief for two hours and squint a little bit, you might think you're at a U2 concert," guitarist Joe Cumia of Port Jefferson told Explore LI. Worth a shot!

The Celtic Tenors
The Paramount in Huntington
Friday, 8 p.m.
For traditional favorites belted out in big voices, head to the Celtic Tenors concert Friday night.

Andy Cooney Sings at the Grand Marshall’s Dinner Dance
Rockville Centre Links Club
March 21 at 8 p.m.
If you still want a taste of tradition, a song to sing along to, and a grand voice to lead you through the song after the holiday.
