Webelos Scouts earn badge at CSH Fish Hatchery

Webelos Scouts from Pack 181 and Pack 178, all in the fourth grade, earned their Naturalist Badge at the Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery on May 15th.  This badge will be used toward earning the Arrow of Light, the highest award of Cub Scouting.    The Fish Hatchery is the perfect place to learn about the ecosystem of our area.  The boys learned about the life in the water by using seine nets (catch and release) and by observing the water under a microscope.  The experience was topped off by a hike.  “It was great to see what was caught in the nets, there is so much cool stuff in the water,” said CR Pulizzotto, Webelos Scout from Pack 181.
