TWF Welcomes TD Bank to Huntington

The Townwide Fund of Huntington was on hand on Saturday, August 10th when TD Bank opened its new Huntington branch at 410 New York Avenue in the Village.   An existing connection between TD Bank and the Fund was strengthened further this spring with the success of the Fund’s annual golf outing, which honored Phil Ammirato, Senior Vice President of TD Bank, for his service and dedication to the Huntington community.

Townwide Fund President Jim Powers, Executive Director Mary Timmons and Treasurer/Grants Chair Vita Scaturro were among the Townwide Fund board members who joined with TD Bank officials in a ribbon cutting ceremony, which took place Saturday afternoon at the new store.  The Townwide Fund opened its own account at the store, and marked the occasion by being the first deposit to be made that day.  The New York Avenue store is the first TD Bank location in the Village of Huntington.  There is also TD Bank nearby at 1040 Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station.

Townwide’s Executive Director, Mary Timmons, pronounced, “We are proud to have this opportunity to demonstrate our own support to a financial institution that has shown its commitment to the town and to the Townwide Fund.  We look forward to a long and productive relationship with TD Bank as a responsive and active member of our town.”

President Jim Powers of Bohler Engineering added, “The Townwide Fund appreciates the support TD Bank has shown to our community, and we are very happy to be a part of the exciting opening ceremony. The relationship goes even deeper as my firm, Bohler Engineering, designed this wonderful site while working closely with the Town. TD Bank exemplifies the leadership role that businesses can play in their hometowns.  We hope that other businesses will take note and follow TD Bank’s example.”
