The Bristal of East Northport Chef Wins People's Choice Award
Amanda Ciniglio, Director of Food Services at the Bristal Assisted Living in East Northport received the “People’s Choice Award” at the Taste of Long Island competition held at Coindre Hall in Huntington.
Ciniglio a graduate of the culinary program at the Art Institute of New York prepared a shrimp and grits with avocado aioli appetizer. Most rewarding to Ciniglio, who has been in charge of food service at the Bristal for six years, was that she was competing against chefs from more than thirty Long Island restaurants.

Ciniglio (second from right) was joined by Bristal colleagues, Joseph Albert (far left) and Michael Znack (third from left) and by celebrity chefs Rob Burmesiter (2nd from left) and Barret Beyer(far right).
The event was held to raise funds for the Visiting Nurse Service and the Hospice of Long Island.
