Huntington Fellowship Elects “Perfect Match” New Minister

At a special congregational meeting following services on April 21st, the members of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Huntington cast an overwhelmingly positive vote to welcome the Reverend Jude Geiger as their new minister. Rev. Geiger holds a Masters Degree in Urban Planning from NYU Wagner, focusing on Community Development, and a Master of Divinity Degree from Union Theological Seminary in Manhattan. He is currently completing five years as Minister of Lifespan Religious Education at the First Unitarian Congregational Society of Brooklyn. In addition to leading worship services in Brooklyn, Rev. Geiger has served as Summer Minister for UU congregations in Summit and Morristown, New Jersey, and has served also as Ministerial Intern at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation, Shelter Rock, in Manhasset. What interested this ministerial candidate in the Huntington Fellowship as he, in turn, considered settlement with a congregation? “Your Fellowship feels like a strong fit,” said Rev. Geiger, “because your long-standing commitment to social justice, especially in your efforts to address homelessness and alleviate hunger, matches my own long-term commitment to social and economic justice.”http://uufh.org/spirituality/services/
