Join the New York Blood Center, a non-profit organization, and help save lives. Volunteers are an integral part of the donation process. Welcome donors, help with registration, serve refreshments and assist staff to ensure that blood donors have a pleasant donation experience. Volunteer opportunities exist for morning, afternoons, evenings and weekends throughout Long Island. Volunteers are asked to help at two or more blood drives each month. A blood drive is either 4 1/2 or 6 hours long. Choose the drives that are most convenient to your lifestyle. All volunteers are required to attend a 90 minute training class before they begin.
