Spencer Secures Discounted Services for Veterans

Suffolk County Legislator William R. Spencer (D-Huntington), has secured discounted services and products for veterans living in Suffolk County for this holiday shopping season and beyond.

The program was created by the Suffolk County Veterans Service Agency to provide small relief to those who serve our Country. Spencer’s office secured discounts from businesses serving the Huntington area but there are  discounts from all types of businesses County-wide, such as restaurants, nurseries, clothing and apparel, video games, and spa services, just to name a few.

The Suffolk County Veterans ID Card is required to receive these benefits. To get more information about participating businesses and about obtaining the SC Veterans ID Card, please follow this link: http://www.suffolkcountyny.gov/veterans/discountprogram.aspx.

“Veterans and their families graciously give of themselves every day to protect and honor our Country,” stated Suffolk County Legislator William R. Spencer. “In an effort to extend to them our sincere thanks, we have encouraged local businesses to offer veterans and their families discounted services and products, during the holiday season and all year round.  This is one small thing we can do to give back to those who keep us safe at home and abroad.”

“Suffolk County has a long tradition of serving those who have served us. By providing both recognition of their service and perhaps some consideration when a veteran makes a purchase at a local business, we are not only appreciating them but it is good business as well. We encourage all business owners to become involved in this worthwhile program and I thank both County Executive Bellone and Legislator Spencer for helping to advance it in Huntington and throughout Suffolk County,” said Tom Ronayne, Director of Suffolk County Veterans Service.

If your company would like to offer veterans living in Suffolk County a small discount on the services or products you provide, please sign up to be part of the Suffolk County Veterans Discount Program. Participant names will be listed on the Suffolk County website, with the business address and discount specifications. The nature of the discount that each individual business is willing to provide is at their discretion. Please contact Legislator Spencer’s staff for more information at (631) 854-4500.  Have a safe and happy holiday!!

They do have the metal inside and they are all the same size. If you are seriously interested I willRead More gladly send you some more pictures. As far as the price, the best I can do is a bundle. Maybe 4 for $100 or 2 for $60. They were looked at by a store owner who wanted to purchase and sell in her store for $50 each. They are very cute, very trendy :)

Do they have the metal inside that held the glass bottles? Are they different sizes? It's hard toRead More tell from the pic. I would definitely buy 2 or 3 but, I wouldn't be able to pay 40.00 each. 20-25 each I can do. Thanks, Karen

I would love to become part of the Huntington Chamber of Commerce. However, for a new business itRead More is costly and may not fit into every new business owners budget. May I suggest a provisional 1-year membership at a reduced cost. Once successful the provisional members can give back by supporting other new members.
