Musicians Band Together to Support Guitarist

On Wednesday September 12, at 7 p.m., please join the many "Friends of Phil" for a  benefit concert to support Long Island musician Phil Antonucci, who is currently battling cancer.

The event is happening at the Huntington Elks Club
which is located at 195 Main Street in Huntington.

Admission is $20 and will feature the rock, funk and horns of Uppercut, Mike DelGuidice and Big Shot performing the music of Billy Joel plus feature selections from Journey, Elton John, Paul McCartney, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith and many more, plus Friends of Mike

Cummings, The Jim Pin Band (featuring members of The Funk Filharmonik) & other special guests all night long!

With his musical genius, his irascible wit, and his boundless love of his family and his many friends and fans, Phil Antonucci has touched the hearts of Long Islanders throughout most of his 59 years. A professional musician since his school days at both St. Ignatius and Holy Trinity in Hicksville, Phil has worked alongside a veritable Who’s Who of Long Island’s most noted musicians, entertainers, and media figures.

Although he is best known as the  guitarist and front man of Beginnings, the Chicago Tribute Band, Phil has also earned accolades behind the scenes as a recording engineer and as a sound technician for a variety of local media outlets including CBS, Fox, Cablevision, YES, and SNY.

Phil Antonucci has been a source of love and inspiration to so many others -- despite his struggle to defeat prostate cancer. That struggle, now in its thirteenth year, has recently been made more difficult as Phil must now contend with lymphoma. The "Friends of Phil" have banded together to support him and his family at this crucial point in his battle. Phil and his wife Deidre have also tirelessly supported the Huntington High School Band Association,
fostering the musical growth of not only their own daughters Corina and Alexa but also of countless student-musicians. Over the past two decades, the Antonuccis have generously offered their time and even their home to the cause of promoting music education. Now many local
Long Island musicians and music lovers are stepping up to help him in his time of need. We hope you will join us too!

If you would like to make a donation and cannot attend the event, all checks can be made out to Mr. and Mrs. Philip Antonucci and mailed to: J. Barondess, 26 Seth Lane Hicksville, N. Y. 11801. Gift cards can also be mailed to the same address. Or, if you'd rather choose to use
PayPal, all you have to do is go to PayPal.com and put in  Phil's email address: lgyland@aol.com.

Does the Patch accept articles from district spokespeople? Perhaps that is the answer to thisRead More problem! Short but informative articles can be submitted each week and then Huntington could get the coverage it so desires. Each town's Patch would cover whichever high schools are in it's area. Problem solved!

Pretty disgusted with the Patch. Talk about a slap in the face to all the players, fans and familiesRead More of the Huntington Blue Devils.

Maybe St Anthony's gets more coverage b/c they "advertise" with the Patch?? Sad, but youRead More know how it goes, whoever fills the pocket, gets the attention!!

They do have the metal inside and they are all the same size. If you are seriously interested I willRead More gladly send you some more pictures. As far as the price, the best I can do is a bundle. Maybe 4 for $100 or 2 for $60. They were looked at by a store owner who wanted to purchase and sell in her store for $50 each. They are very cute, very trendy :)

Do they have the metal inside that held the glass bottles? Are they different sizes? It's hard toRead More tell from the pic. I would definitely buy 2 or 3 but, I wouldn't be able to pay 40.00 each. 20-25 each I can do. Thanks, Karen

I have no idea why the Patch isn't covering any of this. Go Huntington!

I would love to become part of the Huntington Chamber of Commerce. However, for a new business itRead More is costly and may not fit into every new business owners budget. May I suggest a provisional 1-year membership at a reduced cost. Once successful the provisional members can give back by supporting other new members.
