Councilman Mark Mayoka has announced that he wants the town attorney to prepare an anti-blight resolution.
He said,"I have requested the Town Attorney to prepare an anti-blight resolution. This resolution will address key points whether a property has determining factors making the property a fire hazard or qualifying it to be in significant disrepair to be deemed blighted in the neighborhood. It will also require the development of a blighted property inventory list which carries a registration fee of $2500 for residential and $5000 for commercial properties coupled with an incentive progem designed to encourage developers to buy and redevelop blighted properties.
"The legislation will also help military foreclosures within the Town of Huntingtion and will direct the attention of out of state banks and mortgage companies who neglect foreclosed properties. "
