Huntington Officials Attend LIA Breakfast

Suffolk County Legislators Lou D’Amaro (D-Huntington Station) and Steve Stern, D-Huntington and Huntington Councilman Mark Cuthbertson joined more than 1,000 business leaders and other officials at the Long Island Association (LIA)’s Annual State of the Counties Breakfast, held Jan. 11.

Following an introduction by LIA President Kevin Law, Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano and Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone each detailed the issues facing their respective counties.  Both agreed that 2012 presented many challenges and pledged to continue working together to benefit Long Island residents and businesses.  The executives also provided updates on Hurricane Sandy relief and recovery efforts, discussed the current financial situations in their counties, detailed important new legislation and economic initiatives and provided information on what to expect in the coming year.  Their presentations were followed by questions from audience members.

“The annual LIA State of the Counties breakfast is always an insightful forum where officials and business leaders can discuss the current and future needs of Long Islanders,” said D’Amaro. “Although 2012 was a very challenging year, I am pleased that our County Executives addressed these challenges head on and I am hopeful that Long Island will continue to move in the right direction in 2013.”

I would love to become part of the Huntington Chamber of Commerce. However, for a new business itRead More is costly and may not fit into every new business owners budget. May I suggest a provisional 1-year membership at a reduced cost. Once successful the provisional members can give back by supporting other new members.

Do they have the metal inside that held the glass bottles? Are they different sizes? It's hard toRead More tell from the pic. I would definitely buy 2 or 3 but, I wouldn't be able to pay 40.00 each. 20-25 each I can do. Thanks, Karen
