Huntington Driver's Ed Registration Scheduled

Registration for Spring Driver Education Approaches
Registration for the spring driver education program at Huntington High School will be held for seniors on Monday, January 28 between 2:30-3:30 p.m.

Registration for all other students (juniors, sophomores and non-residents) will be held on Tuesday, January 29, also between 2:30-3:30 p.m.

Huntington juniors will register first, followed by sophomores and then all others.

Both registration sessions will be held in room 122 – the office of the director of physical education and athletics.

The program is open to any student who will be at least 16 years old by Feb. 2 and who holds a valid learner’s permit, which must be presented the first day of class.

There are 70 openings, which will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The registration fee is $500 for residents ($525 for non-residents). Checks should be made payable to: Huntington High School Driver Education Program.
An application for the program can be downloaded by logging onto the Huntington School District’s website at www.hufsd.edu and clicking on the Resources link, then on Driver Education and then on Forms & Files.
The course will run from February 4 through May 11. Lecture classes will be conducted every Monday and Tuesday. Students must attend both days. Road classes will be conducted Monday through Saturday. Students must attend one road class per week, which are two-hour sessions.

Individual schedules will be assigned on a first-come-first-served basis on the day of registration.

Students are allowed to miss a maximum of three classes. However, these classes must be made up immediately. Once a student misses a fourth class, they will be dropped from the program and will be ineligible for a “blue card” (MV-285). Classes cannot be made up once a new semester has started.
Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from the program each day. No refunds will be provided once classes have begun.
To be eligible for a “blue card” a student must satisfactorily complete 24 hours of lecture and 24 hours in the car during the spring program.

Does the Patch accept articles from district spokespeople? Perhaps that is the answer to thisRead More problem! Short but informative articles can be submitted each week and then Huntington could get the coverage it so desires. Each town's Patch would cover whichever high schools are in it's area. Problem solved!

Maybe St Anthony's gets more coverage b/c they "advertise" with the Patch?? Sad, but youRead More know how it goes, whoever fills the pocket, gets the attention!!

They do have the metal inside and they are all the same size. If you are seriously interested I willRead More gladly send you some more pictures. As far as the price, the best I can do is a bundle. Maybe 4 for $100 or 2 for $60. They were looked at by a store owner who wanted to purchase and sell in her store for $50 each. They are very cute, very trendy :)

Do they have the metal inside that held the glass bottles? Are they different sizes? It's hard toRead More tell from the pic. I would definitely buy 2 or 3 but, I wouldn't be able to pay 40.00 each. 20-25 each I can do. Thanks, Karen

I have no idea why the Patch isn't covering any of this. Go Huntington!

I would love to become part of the Huntington Chamber of Commerce. However, for a new business itRead More is costly and may not fit into every new business owners budget. May I suggest a provisional 1-year membership at a reduced cost. Once successful the provisional members can give back by supporting other new members.
