Good Morning to all of my Patch Friends.
My apologies for not blogging for a while, but I have been doing a great deal of traveling. Vacation, working on my dissertation, and going to Scotial Air National Guard Base with the Civil Air Patrol has kept me busy. I am pleased to report that my dissertation proposal was accepted. Its title is "Prayer as a means to help cure PTSD." Let me know if you want more information and I will discuss it in a future blog.
As I traveled, one thing that amazed, and quite frankly concerned me, was people's reactions when the company that they worked for messed up somehow. For example, Southwest Airlines lost our stroller. When I went to the baggage counter to ask what needed to be done, the poor lady looked like I was going to yell at her. When I very calmly dealt with the situation, she expressed appreciation for not being yelled at. This reaction from people in service industries made me a bit sad.

As a Christian, we are taught to love God and love our neighbor as ourselves. I fear this teaching is going unheard. What a shame. Think about it. Its not the woman's fault that the stroller was lost; why should we scream at her? What does it say about us? So, while I may be tempted to blow up at someone, I will pledge to abide by this golden rule and treat people like I would like to be treated. Will you do the same? Also, as my Dad used to say, "You can get a lot more done with honey than vinegar."
Have a great week.
