James Powers, President of the Townwide Fund, to be honored

If you like golf and want to benefit the Hospice House in East Northport, then  the event that  the Visiting Nurse Service & Hospice of Suffolk is hosting on Monday, August 5, will fit you to a “tee.”

VNSHS’s ninth annual Golf Classic  takes place at the Indian Hills Country Club in Northport. The fun-filled outing begins with a 10:30 am check-in and breakfast, followed by a  noon shotgun start.  Lunch and snacks will be served on the course. Participants will enjoy full locker room facilities.

A cocktail reception and dinner  begins at 5 pm.  There’ll be an award ceremony honoring  ‘nearest to the pin,’ ‘longest drive,’ ‘low gross,’ ‘low net,’ and team competition.

This year’s honoree is longtime Huntington resident James T. Powers, AIA, who is Director of Operations and Business Development for Bohler Engineering. The registered architect, who boasts more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry, is being honored for outstanding service to the community.

He is currently the longest tenured President of the Townwide Fund of Huntington.
