Abrams to Reopen; Holiday to Begin

What's happening around Huntington.

School Reopens
The buses, the staff and the kids are returning to Jack Abrams school Wednesday after three years absence. Closed because of parental concerns about crime in the surrounding area, the school reopens with an expanded name: Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School. The full Huntington school district also reopens for day before closing for two days because of Rosh Hashanah.

Jewish Holiday Starts
Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, starts at sundown Wednesday and public schools are closed Thursday and Friday. Holiday schedules are online, including the Huntington Jewish Center Temple Beth El and Young Israel in Huntington; the Chai Center and the Dix Hills Jewish Center.
