DESCRIPTION:This workshop will explore drawing from still life and figure
  drawing.&nbsp\; Working with media such as charcoal\, crayon\, and colo
 r washes students will explore color shape and form.\nThe class will sta
 rt with looking at the elements of a composition\, &amp\; how light will
  affect the approach the drawing.&nbsp\; We will experiment with changin
 g the direction of the light\, &amp\; how shadows change the feeling of 
 the drawing.&nbsp\;\nWe will also experiment with  different methods of 
 finding the shapes as we draw\, looking at the subject as shapes and lay
 ers of depth\, as in a topographic map.&nbsp\; We will also use a subtra
 ctive method using the paper as if a sculpture which the student will &l
 dquo\;carve&rdquo\; out the final image.
