Sports is about much more than games. It’s about how we celebrate our teams, obsess over athletes, recite statistics and even party. It can dictate what we wear, where we vacation and even who we marry.
The New York Giants face the San Francisco 49ers Sunday at 6:30 p.m. EST (Fox-TV) for the right to play in the Super Bowl.
So as we count the days to the NFC Championship Game and recount the improbable, plucky run by the Giants, it’s also time to celebrate our fandom.
Everyone has that fan-tastic story: Did you name your son Eli (or Tiki), get a helmet tattoo on your neck or paint your RV Big Blue? Maybe you’re a fourth-generation season ticket holder or proposed to your girlfriend at halftime.
Tell us your stories of ultimate New York Giants fandom. Or show us by uploading a photo. Share them in the comments section and show us why you’re the world's biggest Giants fan.

"Packers still rule, they just didn't show up for the game"... Since when does a team that "rules" not show up for a playoff game?
Go GIANTS! Go GIANTS especially after the refs tried their hardest to give the game to the Packers (after they apparently forgot to show up)!!!

@Dodi Doers - We are offering this to our readers since the Giants won and most NYers support a local team. If you have a photo of your cheesehead fandom, you're welcome to upload that as well!

Not for nothing, but how many Giants fans did we see predict the Packers to win in the contest? :-)

Milwaukee Patch readers: Looks like there might be a glitch in the system. This post was done by New York Patches, with whom we partnered on the Playoff Pick-Em Contest. Don't think it was intended for us — there are NOT a lot of Giants fans here, for sure, not now. We'll get it figured out.

Matthew, the Packers may have lost the game, but you were a great sport on Sunday and the Green Bay fans I've encountered have been very classy.

Matthew, have been to several GB/NYG games in NY over the years, including the one on December 4th - Packer fans are tremendous, among my favorite in the NFL.
They'll be back.......

My friend Jimmy from Teaneck, NJ is probably the biggest Giant fan I know.
His family has had season tickets since WWII - his dad was actually at the game on December 7th, 1941 when all enlisted men were summoned to their military posts to prepare for war. (Coincidentally, so was my dad.)
Jimmy eats, breathes and sleeps Giants 365/52/24/7, he has been to every big Giants game since the old Stadium was built in 1976 and has probably been to virtually every home game there, in Yankee Stadium since the early 70s and Yale Bowl
He's been to every Super Bowl, and saw every playoff game home and AWAY in the 1980's (LA Wild Card in '84, SF Divisional Playoff in '85, Soldier Field in '85, etc.) and has been to every road playoff game and almost all road stadiums.
You walk into Jimmy's house, there's a framed letter in the kitchen from the owner of the Giants and the original architect that built the NFL, the late, great Wellington Mara apologizing to HIM about a road ticket snafu.
In that kitchen is also a blue and white tile floor, Giants garbage compactor, Giants refrigerator, Giants spice rack, on and on.
When his dad passed away some years ago, in the church for the funeral, there was the old school framed gold plaque of the old NY helmet, THEN Jesus on the crucifix below the helmet above the coffin.
He's always at training camp, attends a number of charity functions held by the team and coaches and loses sleep over preseason losses.

Ran out of room on my post.
If there's a bigger, nuttier and more die-hard Giants fan than my friend Jimmy, I'd love to meet them.

Go Big Blue!!!!! The blood is blue here - always has been always will be - good times and bad (way too many) - my father had season tickets since '56 and then I had them until the new stadium was built - didn't want a to take out a second mortgage on the house to payroll the GMen. My beef is with mgt, not the men in blue. NYG are the gritty team, the team that has spirit and heart. If you are a true fan it shows, if you are joining the club now, you are a Jets fan.....just kidding - so keep it light!!

WHAT A GAME! Go G-Men. And what's all this nonsense about them being a jersey team? You can take the Giants out of NY but you will NEVER take NY out of the Giants!!!!!!!!
