Oheka Fundraiser to Honor Fallen Police Officers, Actor Richard Belzer

Proceeds to benefit proposed National Law Enforcement Museum.

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund has announced plans for a black tie gala at the to honor officers from throughout New York, New Jersey and Connecticut killed in the line of duty.

All proceeds from the event will support the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund and their work to build the first-ever National Law Enforcement Museum.

Sponsored by the Zellman Group of Long Island, the inaugural Honor at the Castle Gala, planned for April 24 at Oheka Castle in Huntington, will also recognize actor Richard Belzer, a longtime supporter of the Memorial Fund and Museum. Belzer is best known for his role on the NBC series "Homicide: Life on the Street" and "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit."

"For years, I have played Detective John Munch on television, but it is the men and women who serve our communities every day that deserve recognition,” said Belzer, in a release.

Event organizers say about 400 are expected to attend the event which will include a VIP reception, formal dinner, and entertainment. A blue carpet will be rolled out for those that attend.

Confirmed celebrity guests include: Belzer, emcee Mark Feuerstein of "Royal Pains" and former National Basketball Association superstar Walt "Clyde" Frazier.
