A Huntington Station man was arrested Thursday after falsely reporting that he had been robbed of a backpack containing prescription medication.

Police say, Anthony Cole, 22, of 289 Broadway, called 911 to report that he had been robbed by a man who fled the scene on a BMX bicycle on Union Avenue in Holbrook at 1 p.m.

Cole fabricated the story to obtain a police report for the stolen medication, according to police.  

Cole was charged with third degree falsely reporting an incident and will be arraigned at a later date.
