Jan. 9: Huntington BOE; Advice For Seniors
5 things you need to know today.
1. BOE Back To Work: The Huntington School Board meets for the first time in 2012 at Jack Abrams Intermediate School at 7:30 p.m.
2. Advice For Seniors: Pam Kreutz, a senior advocate from the Suffolk County Office of the Aging, will assist seniors with complicated forms and answers questions regarding county programs and services for seniors at the Huntington Public Library at 10 a.m. No registration required.
3. Centers Night Pot Luck Supper: Whether you are an oldtimer, a newcomer or in between, all are invited to attend. For supper, each person is asked to bring an entree, salad or cooked vegetables for 6-8 people. A $1 per person donation covers the cost of all beverages and snacks. Wine is an additional $1. Begins at 6 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Huntington, 109 Browns Rd.
4. Beginer English Classes: A native English-speaking instructor helps new English speakers practice and improve in a casual and fun environment at the Huntington Public Library at 6 p.m. Registration required. Open to all. Details
