2 Injured in Multi-Car Crash

17-year-old girl seriously injured, medevaced to Stony Brook University Medical Center.

 

Two people were seriously injured in a crash on Jericho Turnpike near Round Swamp Road in Huntington Monday.

Huntington Community First Aid Squad transported two victims, one to Huntington Hospital and the other, a 17-year-old girl, to Walt Whitman Mall for Medevac to Stony Brook University Medical Center.

The victims were extracted from the vehicles by emergency personnel at the scene.

I hate that intersection. That whole run on Jericho from Round Swamp Road to Rt. 110 is like a shooting match. The new turning lane helped a LOT but it's still a dangerous stretch.

Yes the turning lane helped....but now they use the left hand turning lane (there is an arrow light, which never seems to work) to turn right into Umbertos. So now its more of a head on collision. They need those poles like they have going into Best buy. Really bad section of Jericho.
