Ester Bivona defeated Robert Conte in the Huntington Town tax receiver race early Wednesday morning.

Bivona took 67 percent of the vote. Having served in the position for the past 20 years, she recently told Patch that she is looking forward to continuing the work.

A total of 22,732 votes were counted in the race as of 1 a.m. on Wednesday with two districts still left to report their votes.
