Criminal Tampering Occurs at Huntington Mosque

The Hate Crimes Unit and Crime Stoppers are asking for information about a criminal tampering incident at a mosque.

The Suffolk County Police Department Hate Crimes Unit is investigating a criminal tampering incident at a Huntington mosque on Wednesday night.

According to police, a jar filled with nails were thrown near the driveway entrance of the Masjid Noor Mosque on 1032 Park Ave. Police said the jar broke upon impact and caused the nails to spread across the apron of the driveway.  Detectives added that there was no damage caused to the property or any vehicles parked at the location.

Huntington resident Iqbal K. Jadoon, who is chairman of the National Unity Council of Pakistanis in the USA and a member of the mosque, said he was amazed after hearing about the incident.

"I am completely shocked by this cowardly and shameful act," Jadoon said. "It can do no harm to Islam, but it shows the moral and psychological weakness of that individual who doesn't have the courage to face the truth and reality of Islam."

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Hate Crimes Unit at (631) 852-6323 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.

I am completely shocked by this cowardly and shameful act that a work truck or stupid kids would drop a jar of nails on the apron of a piece of property. The real question is have we all lost or common sense? Gee I bet this is some secret Long Island Miltia, planning to help the economy of all the tire stores in Huntington. I can't take it anymore!
