OMG Kate, What rock do you live under. I'm born and raised in Huntington. Now I live in Huntington Station. There was a shooting at the movie theatre on wall street. A murder in a bagel store same street, and oh yes another shooting at Christophers all on Wall street. Plenty of crime in both areas. But most of the reports will come from Huntington Station because of the media. N0T Huntington . Only because the money the town makes on entertainment.... You will only here about it from word of mouth.

Not all arrests in Huntington Station, but the vast majority were. Maybe the newly-added cops on the street there are the difference.

@ Rich.....31 out of 40 were in Huntington Station. That is certainly the majority !!
The cops can arrest them all day long, but if the system continues to release them, the problem will continue in that area...they need to hand down much stiffer sentencing!
Not necessarily keepin them behind bars so we tax payer have to feed the bums, but more like hundreds of hours of picking up all the garbage off of every street, etc.

Read the names as well - they aren't all illegal immigrants, obviously. I recognize two of them who I knew probably 15 yrs ago when they were little boys, what a shame.

I think we have to own up to the fact that our own homegrown children are going to the station to purchase the drugs, keeping the dealers in business there. So along with cleaning up the station, people need to take care of problems at home.

We do have serious issues with crime in Huntington Station, but I object to people painting such a relentlessly negative image of our community. There are many great folks living in Huntington Station. I am proud to live in the Station, and enjoy having a home here.

OMG Chris...I do not live under a rock...Yes there has been some crimes in Huntington, but the criminals came from outside of the area into the village and created those crimes....BTW...I do not live in Huntington or Huntington Station...so not really sure why you have to bring Huntington into it :) To mention the shooting at the bagel store is about as low as you can go pal....

Stop with the Huntington Station bashing please. Chris is right when he says that there have been many incidents in Huntington Village. The town does not want you to know about it! SSSHHHHHH!!!!! People wont come to spend their money in the Village. Please also note that many arrested are from out of town and also remember that Huntington Station isnt just the railroad station. It goes all the way down to MELVILLE!!!!! And Kate....you DO live under a rock!

The reason H/S has so many problems and arrest is the fact the population is so big, they keep building and adding to the area, it's a city in itself. Low income, no income, section 8, illegal housing. I almost want to bet, most of these people live in an illegal housing. It will get worse now that the town lowered the property line in the station, you will have many more illegal housing. But do hope the police do keep working hard.

Marijuana, marijuana, marijuana... Such a waste of resources! There are so many bigger issues, particularly in the Huntington area... But let's call 3 more patrol cars for a couple kids smoking in a park, that'll really scare off the gangs and solve our problems.
