Chef Michael Ross Departs Bel Posto

Michael Ross announced on Facebook that he's left his post as top toque at the Huntington Italian restaurant.

Michael Ross, executive chef at Bel Posto Restaurant on New Street has left the restaurant.

Ross made the announcement in a posting on Facebook, where he listed his employer as Ross/Schaudel Catering & Event Planning, a business he owns with another well-known Long Island chef, Tom Schaudel. 

“To all my friends, I am no longer affiliated with Bel Posto Restaurant in Huntington Village,” he wrote. “I would like to thank all my friends for your support.”

He said in the posting that he is working on a new project, but did not add any details. He could not be reached for further comment.

Last Septmber, Ross joined forces with the Iannucci family to open Bel Posto. Phone calls to the restaurant were not answered Tuesday afternoon.

Ross formerly cooked at Sally’s Cocofe in Huntington, the former Gabrielle's in Rockville Centre, Jedediah's in Jamesport and Fiddlehead’s in Oyster Bay.
