happy to have at least one new voice on the town board......as Morrow stated..the corruption in town hall has to stop...and we all know what work is left to be done to get that accompished :)

I agree, it is nice to have a new voice on the board. I believe Mark Cuthbertson is next to run, and from what I understand from people within, he is not that popular, even in the Democratic party. This may finally give bring some sanity back to Town Hall.

There's a strong reason why Susan is very well liked in this town, she continues to do the job we've asked her to do.

I don't know if this will give any comfort to those who are very disappointed but... I was able to get some specific numbers from a few Huntington Station/SD 3 Election Districts. The turn out was significantly higher than 2009 and they went overwhelmingly for Cook/Morrow. These are districts that are usually easily taken by Town Board Democtats. ED 154 (near the Washington School), was close to 2 to 1 in favor of Cook/Morrow. ED 53 which is also near the school, had higher turn out than 2009 and went significantly Cook/Morrow. ED 49 went significantly for Cook/Morrow. At least this tells me that we tried to stand up for ourselves, and that's something.

Kim, did you actually agree with something I said? Stop the presses! I think Petrone will retire. I stand by my prediction that Mark goes to the county level. No clue from there.

We removed an unacceptable comment about a candidate's drinking habits. Jim's comment was in response to that remark. When we removed the first, his went with it.

The GOP base simply did not come out and vote. This is clearly evident when looking at past election percentages. This data is available on the Suffolk BOE website. This is what cost Morrow the election.

Thanks Pam - I'd still like to know why comments about the Yogurt Factory were removed as well. Still never got an answer from the editors...

It is sad that Glenda Jackson did not make it in. She is and was worth it.

@Mary. Don't bother answering Mr. Livington's question. Any informed and intelligent voter knows what they did and recognizes that every photo op represents something positve that was done, ie., recognizing a child who got an award (maybe your's, mine or Mr. Livingston"s) a winning team, the opening of a new business, etc. I promise you Mr. Cook will not miss an oportunity to do the same the moment he begins his term as a councilman. Mr. Livingston doesn't really care what Ms. Berland and Ms. Jackson did and is simply angry Ms. Berland won. I predict he going to spend the next 2 years giving us the benefit of his "wisdom" which is soley to try and convince everyone that Mr. Cuthbertson and Mr. Petrone have done nothing for the town and should be removed from office. It is always sad when a portion of the voters are so partisan and actually believe that someone is a better person if they belong to a particular party (in his case, the Republicans).
I am, by the way, a Republican. I voted for Ms. Berland and Mr. Morrow. I'm sorry Mr. Morrow didn't win and Mr. Cook did but that the way it goes. I wish Mr. Cook the best of luck and hope he can contribute something positive to the town board but I am very skeptical of his motives and abilitites. Hopefully he will prove me wrong.

Mary, ask Tony what he wants you to have for lunch today. Since he has positioned himself as your advisor. So no one can tell me what any of the current board members did (including Mayoka) of substance? Reducing crime? Improving HS? Reducing taxes? Making the public sector work more efficiently? Ensuring the safety of citizens in the village after midnight? No? Save the photo ops and get to business. If Cook poses with a shovel at some ground breaking with the same consistency as Berland, Jackson and Cuthbertson, it will be business as usual, and he will greatly disappoint people who elected him, other than you Tony.

Mary, I recommend the the mesculin salad with goat cheese at the Golden Dolphin diner in Huntington Village. Fabulous food, safe environment and you may even get so see a politician or two having lunch while planning their next photo op and conspiring to aggravate Mr. Livingston.
